Last week we met Eric and Lina and over a cup of coffee we had the most wonderful time getting to know each other.  We had the chance to hear their story of falling in love, how Eric surprised Lina with a proposal in Denmark, looked at pictures of the location for their wedding, heard details about a few of their wedding surprises and discovered how they found us.  We went to the meeting expecting to book their wedding and came out with two new friends!

Lina is from Denmark and met Eric while spending time here in the USA.  They have been dating long distance and they are definitely anticipating the day when they will both live in the same country… not many engaged couples have that on their list of “to do”.  Due to Lina’s heritage they are going to be incorporating a few Danish traditions in the wedding!  We love when weddings cater to the unique characteristics of the bride and groom.

One of those Danish traditions is to wear your ring on your right hand.  In Denmark, your ring hand signifies your promise hand.  It is the hand you raise in court and the hand to show your covenant and promise to your spouse.  Lina shared with us how after realizing this difference in culture she did research to find out why Americans wear our rings on our left hand.  The answer is our left hand is closest to our hearts.

Since Lina is headed back to Denmark next week to finish school, we had to quickly squeeze in an engagement shoot.  We had so much fun with them.  It was so apparent how much they love each.  We are so blessed to have met them and we are really looking forward to being a part of capturing their wedding this July.

Jadon and Stephanie Lavik just welcomed another sweet little boy into their family.  The plan was to take a few pictures of 3 month old, Noah, but when a family is this beautiful we just had to take the chance to capture a few pictures of all of four of them.

London is the daughter of some of our really good friends.   She is absolutely adorable and definitely has a big personality.  Being that London’s Grandpa is a firefighter the pictures with her in the antique fire engine toy are absolutely perfect for their family.

Every Christmas we go back to Ohio to spend time with the Collins’ side of the family.  This past year we have the privilege of having a white Christmas.  There was snow everywhere and it was absolutely beautiful.  We had the chance to take Amy, Travis’ sister out in the snow to capture a few pictures.  She is not only beautiful on the outside, but she is beautiful on the inside too.

Ryan and Alissa are some really good friends of ours, so it was a lot fun getting to hang out and to take a few pictures.  One of favorite things to do when shooting a couple is to bring in a few props.  After talking with Alissa, we decided to have them bring along this awesome beach cruiser and a cute red kite.  We really liked how the props added to the photos, plus it doesn’t hurt that they are absolutely adorable!

We had the chance of taking pictures of the Versluis Family.  As you can see in the pictures, they definitely know how to have a good time.
