Doug & Kristina Engaged!

September 1, 2010

Doug and Kristina flew down from the Sacramento area for their engagement photo shoot last week.  We really hit it off with them and are looking forward to shooting their wedding back up in Northern California this coming January.  They are clearly in love and counting down the days until they are Mr. and Mrs.

Nikki & Anthony

June 16, 2010

Nikki and Anthony have spent several dates and special moments together in downtown San Juan, so it made for a perfect location for their engagement pictures.  They will be getting married this July and they are really excited about what the future holds for them.

Bill and Rebecca

May 7, 2010

Bill and Rebecca have been friends of ours since we moved to San Clemente.  They are coming up on their 9th wedding anniversary and still seem like newlyweds. In addition to being so in love and not afraid to show it, they both are so photogenic so it made our job easy.  We really enjoyed our time with them and are looking forward to working with them in the future.

Oh, so lovely…

March 25, 2010

We had the amazing opportunity to work with Grey Likes Weddings who came up with an idea to use a living room that was styled by Eddie Ross as an inspiration to create a photo shoot.  Originally when we heard about the color scheme, it was hard for us to imagine what was in store.  We were totally blown away by the amazing work of Grey Likes Weddings.  The beautiful flowers were designed by The Vine’s Leaf and the paper desigend by the amazing Paper and Thread.  To read the full story of Grey Likes Weddings inspiration check it out on Style Me Pretty.  Thanks to Tricia Mankat and Dane Fages who were our beautiful models!

Engaged: Eric and Lina

March 1, 2010

Last week we met Eric and Lina and over a cup of coffee we had the most wonderful time getting to know each other.  We had the chance to hear their story of falling in love, how Eric surprised Lina with a proposal in Denmark, looked at pictures of the location for their wedding, heard details about a few of their wedding surprises and discovered how they found us.  We went to the meeting expecting to book their wedding and came out with two new friends!

Lina is from Denmark and met Eric while spending time here in the USA.  They have been dating long distance and they are definitely anticipating the day when they will both live in the same country… not many engaged couples have that on their list of “to do”.  Due to Lina’s heritage they are going to be incorporating a few Danish traditions in the wedding!  We love when weddings cater to the unique characteristics of the bride and groom.

One of those Danish traditions is to wear your ring on your right hand.  In Denmark, your ring hand signifies your promise hand.  It is the hand you raise in court and the hand to show your covenant and promise to your spouse.  Lina shared with us how after realizing this difference in culture she did research to find out why Americans wear our rings on our left hand.  The answer is our left hand is closest to our hearts.

Since Lina is headed back to Denmark next week to finish school, we had to quickly squeeze in an engagement shoot.  We had so much fun with them.  It was so apparent how much they love each.  We are so blessed to have met them and we are really looking forward to being a part of capturing their wedding this July.
