Last weekend, we photographed Ryan and Stephanie’s wedding which took place on the cliffs over looking Laguna Beach. It was such a sweet intimate wedding and a wonderful celebration of their relationship. They dated for four years and it was so apparent how excited they were to finally be getting married. Congratulations Ryan and Stephanie!

The Greenwood’s are some of our dearest friends. Emily and I actually went to high school together. However, we went to different colleges thousands of miles away from each other. Every holiday when we would get together, we would spend endless hours talking about life’s recent joys and trials. After graduation, we both got married and our weddings were 4 weeks apart in which we were both a bridesmaid for the other. A year after we were married, both of our husbands took different jobs that happened to be locate in San Clemente. We moved to this little town 4 weeks apart from each other and now we both have first born sons! Needless to say, we have a lot in common not to mention the fact that our husbands really get along as well. These are the kinds of friendships one cherishes for a lifetime.

This Mother’s Day we celebrated with my mom and my family. My incredibly talented sister, Summer from GreyLikesWeddings styled an amazing surprise picnic to celebrate Mother’s Day. She made the flower arrangements, the lemon tarts from scratch and the night before she even sowed a few pillows to match with the theme! I highly recommend hiring her to style your next photo shoot, wedding, birthday or event. The first picture is of my beautiful mother and my son, Hudson.
Emily and Billy are expecting their first baby sometime within the next month. They are one of the few couples out there who wait until the baby is born to find out the gender. So, needless to say, they are really excited to meet their little one. Parenthood is amazing adventure and we can’t wait for their journey to begin!
In light of Mother’s Day, we wanted to catch up our blogging with a few beautiful moms we photographed a little over a month ago.
This first is Ashley and her sweet baby Colin. Ashley’s husband, Dan is an incredible drummer and plays in Phil Wickham’s band. Unfortunately, at the time we took these pictures Dan was at a show, so we will be sure to get a few of all three of them in the future. Ashley is a beautiful mom and is so good with Colin. He is one lucky baby to have the parents he does.
This next couple is Deanna and Justin. We were excited to meet this awesome couple and get a few maternity pictures before baby Carter was born. These pictures were actually taken 2 weeks before he was due. She looked so awesome for being 38 weeks pregnant! Carter is now about 6 weeks old and they are definitely adoring parents!
Bill and Rebecca have been friends of ours since we moved to San Clemente. They are coming up on their 9th wedding anniversary and still seem like newlyweds. In addition to being so in love and not afraid to show it, they both are so photogenic so it made our job easy. We really enjoyed our time with them and are looking forward to working with them in the future.
Last weekend, we were able to second shoot with Jeff Wallace at Ryan and Alyssa’s wedding. It was a beautiful wedding located at the La Casa Del Camino. Ryan and Alyssa were such a fun couple to photograph and she was a beautiful bride!
We have been wanting to share more of life on our photography website and we thought we would start with our son, Hudson’s 1st Birthday party. Of course, being that Hudson is only one year old, the party really was for us as a family to celebrate the life of our little boy. Hayley and her sister, Summer styled the party and it made for a fun colorful celebration. We had a “toy buffet” for the kids to fill their own goodie bag with vintage toys which actually provided quite a bit of entertainment for the adults too. Some of the things we made included the paper chandeliers, cupcakes, flags and of course, Hudson’s cake. Here are a few pictures from the big day. To see more pictures you can visit GreyLikesBaby.
Aunt Summer gave us the cute vintage cake topper and the big 1 which she found at a local flea market. The cake topper is now in Hudson’s room and he loves to see it spin. The chandelier we made and placed above the cake table.
As you can see in the picture below, Hudson’s face was a clue to how he would take to the large crowd gathered around singing “Happy Birthday” and cheering for him to dig into his cake.
He definitely was not a fan of all the attention and was not interested in the cake. He even cried when we tried to stick his hands into the frosting.
All in all, it was a beautiful day filled with the company of family and friends. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful son and we are looking forward to all that life holds for him in this next year.
